DELIVERING ON WORLD-CLASS PARTS

Based in Manchester, United Kingdom, EDM Precision Engineering has invested heavily in new 3,4 and 5 Axis CNC Machine Tools and in 2021 a new composite parts facility was completed. This enables a range of components to be manufactured and assembled in house under our AS9100D approval. Our activities include defence related development work as well as simulation and training systems for customers that include BAE SYSTEMS, Rolls-Royce, Lockheed Martin, and the UK MoD.

EDM Precision Engineering offers a ‘make to print’ subcontract machining service focused on difficult to make parts catering for aerospace, space and defence applications. Our Composite facility can offer both resin infusion and prepreg make to print manufacturing solutions in GRP, Carbon and Aramid fibres combined with epoxy or phenolic resins.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

EDM completes much of the manufacturing process in house but, when necessary, has an established and approved supply chain covering raw material and surface treatments.

Depending on the customer specification, we do have our own paint shop as well as tooling design and make covering production fixtures as well as mould and trim tooling for composite parts.

Tooling design and manufacture is offered as a subcontract service.
AOG and ‘Fast Make’ components can be machined in very short lead-times in between two and four weeks.
